Wrapping up the Year

It’s been…wow, a long time since I’ve blogged. But as this year has been action-packed, and as we’re coming to the end of 2019 (how did that happen?) it seemed like a good time to collect all of my recent news in one place.

  • THE biggest news is that WE ARE LOST AND FOUND has been optioned for film by Ill Kippers Productions, the new production company of Nikolaj Coaster-Waldau (Games of Thrones) and PR guru Jeffrey Chassen,  with Julian Morris (Pretty Little Liars, etc.) also producing.

As excited as I am to even think about my book being made into a film or show, the fact that these amazing and passionate artists understand and appreciate this book so viscerally makes me confident it’s in the best of hands. I look forward to partnering with them in their journey to bring this project to fruition.

Someday, I’ll probably write about the incredibly synchronistic way that this all came about, but for now know that I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome.

More about Ill Kippers can be found here.

Also, I need to reiterate that my agent, Lauren MacLeod is the absolute best and I’m grateful to have her in my court through the good and the bad. Thanks, Lauren!

  • WE ARE LOST AND FOUND was also added to the Texas TAYSHAS Reading List, an annual reading list for students in grades 9-12, sponsored by the Texas Library Association. The goal is to "motivate young adults to become lifelong readers and to participate in the community of readers in Texas."

  • AND the ebook of WE ARE LOST AND FOUND is just $1.99 across all platforms through the end of the year. Also, watch for the paperback, releasing July 1, 2020.

  • ONCE again, the Sourcebooks art team has gifted me and the STUNNING cover for PRELUDE FOR LOST SOULS was revealed over on Hypable, along with an excerpt. For those of you who are fans of WE ARE LOST AND FOUND, you’ll find this paranormal a departure. But the two books also share similar themes of friendships, first loves, and trying to figure out who you are rather than who everyone else wants you to be. It had ghosts, curses, a creepy town counsel, two very different relationships, three points of view, and one of my favorite of my own characters.

You can read more about PRELUDE on its page. It’s also up for pre-sale, and, of course, on Goodreads, so please add it!

  • AS anyone who has been through it knows, publishing is a roller coaster. The day before the news of my movie option broke, I found out that my first two books, THESE GENTLE WOUNDS, and WHAT REMAINS were going out of print. I will, over time, be making these books available again electronically (and possibly in print). In the meantime, I do have some new stock. So if you’re looking for either of these books, just let me know on my contact form and I can even autograph them for you. $6 + shipping per book and you’ll probably find some swag thrown in as well.

  • IN the meantime, I’m hard at work on PRELUDE’s sequel and have some other projects in the works, so stay tuned.

Wishing you a very happy holiday season, and all the best for 2019!
